About us
The founders of Pyro Science comprise scientists and engineers originating from leading sensor research groups at the MPI for Marine Microbiology (Bremen, Germany), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), and the Technical University of Graz (Austria). During the last 15 years, these research groups have been pioneers in developing new sensor techniques (for e.g. oxygen, pH, CO2, irradiance) with optical measurement principles. Based on this knowledge, Pyro Science provides the market with a new generation of sensors and sensor meters with the aim to provide high performance for affordable prices. The staff of Pyro Science has a deep background in chemistry, live sciences, physics and electrical engineering. Therefore, our company has excellent technical expertise for developing new sensor techniques, as well as a deep expertise in their practical application. |

Pyro Science was founded in 1998 as a small
spin-off of the University of Copenhagen (Denmark, that time
registered as "Pyro Imagination"). During the first years, Pyro
Science developed and marketed mainly automized
micromanipulator setups intended for microsensor measurements.
However, in the following years the product range was extended
continuously. In 2008 the company was relocated to
Aachen in Germany. In 2009 the company was renamed as Pyro
Science.
