Sensor Spots (OXSxx)

These sensor spots allow contactless oxygen measurements within closed vessels through a transparent window (plastic or glass). The sensor spots are fixed at the inner side of the window. On the opposit side of the window a spot adapter (SPADxxx) is fixed. The spot adapter is then directly connected via a spot fiber (SPFIB or SPFIB-BARE) to the oxygen meter Firesting O2. We offer also sensor spots with an additional optical isolation, which prevents (1) the red sensor excitation flash from entering the sample and (2) intensive external illumination (e.g. direct sun light) from disturbing the measurement. Especially, if your setup uses "flickering" illumination (e.g. fluorescent lamps, modulated LEDs), we recommend the optical isolation. Note that the optical isolation slows down slightly the response time of the sensor.

Sensor Cuvettes (OXCUV)

Standard plastic cuvettes (10x10x45 mm) with an oxygen sensor spot glued to one of the side walls. They allow precise contactless oxygen measurements (e.g. respiration rate measurements) within the liquid content of the cuvette. A spot adapter (SPADxxx) must be fixed to the outer side of the cuvette. The spot adapter is then connected to the oxygen meter Firesting O2 with the spot-fiber (SPFIB).

Flow Through Cell (OXFTC)

This flow through cell has an integrated oxygen sensor spot, allowing precise oxygen measurements of the medium flowing through this cell. The flow through cell is directly connected via the spot fiber (SPFIB, partly shown on the image) to the oxygen meter Firesting O2. The outer/inner diameter of the tubing is ca. 2/1.5mm.

Basic Spot Adapter (SPADBAS)

The basic spot adapter SPADBAS (black plastic cube on the image) provides a precise fixation for the spot-fibers SPFIB or SPFIB-BARE. It is recommended for window thicknesses of 0-2mm. The position of the spot adapter should not be changed after the sensor spot has been calibrated. Therefore, it is adviced to glue the spot adapter to the window with an appropriate adhesive (e.g. epoxy glue).

Lens Spot Adapter (SPADLNS)

The lens spot adapter SPADLNS with an integrated collimating lens (the metallic adapter on the image) provides a precise fixation for the spot fiber SPFIB. It is recommended for window thicknesses of 2-6mm. A flexible readjustable cable binder is included, allowing a quick positioning of spot adapters e.g. on laboratory flasks (see image below). Note, that SPADLNS is not compatible with SPFIB-BARE.

Spot-Fiber (SPFIB and SPFIB-BARE)

The spot fiber SPFIB is used for connecting the oxygen meter Firesting O2 to spot-adapters or flow-through-cells. There are ST-connectors (no stainless steel) at both ends of the spot-fiber. The standard cable length is 1m. The image shows the end of a spot-fiber connected to a spot-adapter, which is positioned at a sensor spot fixed within a laboratory flask. We offer also the bare spot fiber SPFIB-BARE which has one bare polished fiber end (outer diameter: 2 mm), which is seawater resistant and might be useful for building your own sensor spot adapters. The standard versions have cable length of 1m providing the best signal quality. Alternatively, we offer also cable lengths of 2m (add -CL2 to the item no.).

Silicone Glue for Sensor Spots (SPGLUE)

This silicone glue (90 ml) can be used for gluing sensor spots (e.g. OXSP5) inside of the containers, where the oxygen measurement should be performed in. Generally, every transparent silicone glue based on acetic acid can be used for this purpose. The actual delivered brand of silicone glue might differ from the product image.
