The Oxygen Nanoprobes OXNANO allow dissolved oxygen (DO) measurements in liquid samples within closed transparent systems (plastic or glass). They are perfectly dispersible in aqueous solutions or culture media. A simple batch calibration of the nanoprobe dispersion allows read-out at various locations along the sample container or in different samples containing the same dispersion. Their ultra-fast response time allows real-time oxygen monitoring and high-throughput screening. They are ideally suitable for contactless measurements of fast processes in small sample volumes and within complex geometries.

Microfluidic applications: The oxygen nanoprobes are especially useful for establishing oxygen measurements in microfluidic applications. Special fiber-optic adapters with integrated focussing optics allow contactless point measurements (<1mm2) within microfluidic systems.

Basic Spot Adapter (SPADBAS). Set of 4 basic spot adapters providing precise fixation for the optical fibers PICFIB2 or the optical fiber rod PICROD2 at transparent container walls. The spot adapter should be glued to the window with an appropriate adhesive (e.g. epoxy glue or silicone glue SPGLUE).

     
 

Lens Spot Adapter (SPADLNS). The lens spot adapter provides a precise fixation for the optical fiber SPFIB at transparent containers with a wall thickness of ca. 2-6mm. A flexible re-adjustable cable binder is included, allowing quick positioning e.g. on laboratory flasks. Not applicable if submersed in water.

 

     
 

Optical Fiber (SPFIB). The optical fiber SPFIB is used for connecting the spot adapters SPADBAS or SPADLNS to the optical oxygen meter FireStingO2. There are ST-connectors at both ends. Standard cable lengths of 1m or 2m are available.

 

     
 

Bare Optical Fiber (SPFIB-BARE). The bare optical fiber SPFIB-BARE is used for connecting the basic spot adapter SPADBAS to the optical oxygen meter. It has a straight cut polished fiber end, which has no metallic parts. Therefore, SPFIB-BARE can be used in water baths or salt water applications.

Optical Fiber Rod 3mm (PICROD3). For applications with very thick windows (up to 20mm) we offer the optical fiber rod PICROD3 (ca. 50mm in length, 3mm core diameter). Note, that this item is not compatible to the spot adapters SPADBAS, but needs a customized fixation.

Optical Fiber with Integrated Focussing Lens (PICFIB2-LNS). The optical fiber with integrated focussing lens PICFIB2-LNS (1m in length, stainless steel tip 3 mm in diameter) is used for read-out with the optical oxygen meter Piccolo2 of oxygen nanoprobes (OXNANO) in microfluidic applications. Applicable for a window thickness of ca. 0-0.5mm.

The optical fiber rod with integrated focussing lens PICROD2-LNS (ca. 40mm in length, 3mm in diameter, stainless steel) provides a short connection between the optical oxygen meter Piccolo2 and the container wall. Used for read-out of oxygen nanoprobes (OXNANO) in microfluidic applications with a window thickness of ca. 0-0.5mm.
