Respiration Rates

  • Incubation of an enclosed sediment, soil, biofilm, plant, animal, algae, plankton, fish, cell or microbial sample in an airtight, temperature-controlled closed chamber (with water jacket or incubated in a water bath for constant temperature)
  • Introduction of a temperature sensor for temperature measurement and compensation of oxygen signals
  • Detection of the initial oxygen decrease (over time) and calculation of oxygen consumption rate
